Welcome to the first edition of Gravel Odyssey’s bike packing adventures. Four days of fantastic riding in the beautiful mountains of Funäsfjällen, accompanied by the magic of the midnight sun. This odyssey includes two nights out in the wild with start and finish at Ramunberget Hotel Fjällgården.
The nights out will be spent in a tent camp under the stars and the food cooked over open fire. The equipment and supplies is transported by the crew, you only carry your own gear, lunch and snacks. Light bikes equals more fun! The fourth day offer a shorter, iconic local ride before the final lunch and trip back home.
The adventure can be challenging depending on the elements, however no bike packing experience is necessary.
Who’s in?
You'll meet and ride with gravel loving explorers looking for adventure. Experienced cyclists, new gravelistas, bike packers and general outdoor lovers who seek to experience the Swedish mountains on two wheels.
This is a bike packing event, start and finish the adventure at Hotel Fjällgården in Ramundberget. Your level of bike packing experience may vary, however you need to be able to enjoy whatever nature throws at you. We are heading out into the wild, there’s no safety net on this tour. our service car and crew are only meeting up at the base camps at night, ensuring we eat and sleep well.
How to get there
This weekend starts by checkin at Fjällgården, Ramundberget on Wednesday evening September 23rd. You make your own travel arrangements to Ramundberget and drop in whenever works for you.
The suggested way of transportation is by car or bus Härjedalingen, departing from Stockholm Central. However you can fly into Sveg Airport and connect to Ramundberget via bus or taxi.
What’s included?

Each day on the bike will be guided by an experience group leader familiar with the route. There might be several groups divided by average speed. Option to switch between groups are open at all times. Groups will of course meet for lunch on the route and at the base camp for after bike hangout and dinner at the end of every day.

The base camp is set up and staffed by the crew. You pack your own base camp gear and tent, transportation is taken care of by the crew. The first and last night will be spent at wonderful Ramundberget Mountain Lodge. Standard accommodation is in a shared twin room. Single rooms are available for a supplement of 1,000 SEK.

Long days in the saddle require proper fuel. All meals are included. A full breakfast and dinner will be served at the lodge. Lunch and snacks are packed on your bike. Dinner is cooked at the base camp. Maurten products for extra energy will be available during the rides. Alcoholic beverages are not included but can be purchased separately at the lodge.

The bike rental cost is 950 SEK for all four days.

After breakfast, we head down toward Bruksvallarna, then branch off towards Djupdalsvallen along beautiful gravel roads and hilly terrain with plenty of elevation. An epic local little gem of a ride! We’ll be back for lunch and showers before departure.
