Gravel Odyssey Gotland south 2026

Gotland south - the new southern route!

Gotland August 28th - 31st, 2026.
Start and finish in Visby.

mission briefing

The last weekend of August, we're heading back to Gotland — and this year, we've levelled everything up. More epic food, a stunning base camp, an extra day in the saddle, and all the wild coastal riding that makes this island a gravel cyclist's dream. This isn't just a bike trip. It's a full-blown adventure. All inclusive.

Who’s in?

We´ve got ten open spots in total for this trip.
You’ll meet and ride with gravel loving, explorers looking for adventure. Experienced cyclists, new gravelistas, bike packers and general two-wheel lovers with smiles on their faces. And anyone in between who enjoy a good adventure and along day out.

How to get there

The trip to and from Visby is on you. Find your way, ferry or flight, your choice. Just make sure to be there in time, everything else is taken care of. We’ll take the 11:25 departure from Nynäshamn on Friday the 28th, and return from Visby at 16:30 on Monday the 31st. Gravel Odyssey can organize a group ferry booking — just let us know when you sign up.

What’s included?

  • We've Got You Covered

Luggage transport — We haul your bags from the ferry in Visby to Ekegården, and back again on Monday. You might even be able to drop your gear in the car before boarding the ferry in Nynäshamn.

Support vehicle — The same car carries lunch and snacks and meets you out on the road each day. Toss in a small daypack of extras if you want them accessible without carrying them on the bike.

Ferry — We take the 11:25 departure from Nynäshamn on Friday the 28th, and return from Visby at 16:30 on Monday the 31st. Gravel Odyssey can organize a group ferry booking — just let us know when you sign up.

  • Each day on the bike will be guided by an experience group leader familiar with the route. There will be a no-drop approach and the speed will be moderate. Expect long days and great riding. Lunch and snacks on route.

The full route will be published prior to the event.

    Friday — The West Coast
Roll off the ferry in Visby and head south. The first day eases you in with sweeping clifftop views at Södra Hällarna, smooth gravel tracks hugging the coastline past Klintehamn, and what many call Gotland's most beautiful stretch of coast — Ekstakusten. You'll roll into Ekegården around 7pm, just in time for afterbike and dinner. Classic.

    Saturday — Around Sudret
The big one. We ride west, then south around the island's tip — past massive wind turbines, seal lookout points, and sea eagle territory. From Fide onward, it's some of the most breathtaking riding on the entire island: premium gravel right at the water's edge, through fishing villages, lamb pastures, and all the way out to Hoburgsgubben at Gotland's southernmost point. Raukar rock formations, pebble beaches, coastal meadows — this is what you came for.

    Sunday — The East Coast
Wake up and point east. We roll through the charming holiday village of Ljugarn, past raukar fields at Folhammar and into the pine-lined shores of Sandviken nature reserve. Small fishing harbours, smokehouses, beaches, and singletrack right at the water's edge — ending with a sunset loop around the Grogarnsberget headland. Pure bliss.

Monday — Through the Heart of Gotland
Our final day takes us inland — a totally different vibe. Old railway paths, ancient deciduous forest, classic tractor tracks and gravel roads north to Roma and the medieval ruins of Roma Klosterruin. Then a final push toward Visby, either on smooth gravel through the fields or quick asphalt, depending on how much time we have before the 4:30pm ferry.

  • Home Base: Ekegården

Forget basic accommodation. We're staying at the gorgeous Ekegården, a charming farmstead where you'll wake up to homemade breakfasts, come home to proper sit-down dinners, and wind down with after-bike sessions in good company. The farm has a kiosk, billiard room, gym, and loads of space to hang out — and your bike stays locked up safe every night.

  • Food? Sorted.

A full dinner and breakfast will be served at base camp Ekegården. Expect homemade lunches out on the route every day on the bike, with coffee and snacks in both the morning and afternoon. Fuel included. Cravings handled. Grocery stores will be available close to base camps and on route.

  • As a participant on this odyssey you’ll enjoy all the discounts from our partners.
